The home surface has been completely relaid ahead of the season-defining derby week, with ground staff working around the clock to deliver a pitch worthy of the occasion.
Rebuilt from the base up
Years of heavy spring fixtures had taken their toll, so the club committed to a full relay: new drainage, fresh rootzone and a heavier grass cover that rewards quick passing football. The touchlines were repainted this morning.
“The lads want a fast, true surface. That is exactly what they will get — no excuses now.” — Head groundskeeper
Ready for the run-in
The new surface has already hosted two closed-door training matches, with coaching staff reporting quicker ball roll and surer footing in the wide areas where Reed does his most damage.
